Epg

If epg is not downloading in the background, you can go to settings > epg > refresh epg to force it to reload, 

On some devices like firesticks, this process is resource intensive and may take several minutes, exiting back to the settings menu and back epg, may help with it updating the progress.

In some cases you may need to follow the bouquet guide, to remove unwanted/unused content, which will make the epg download smaller.
